happy tuesday to you! today, i come to you with my first and likely my last recipe. you have probably heard of vietnamese iced coffee before, but if not then you are in for a treat! vietnamese iced coffee is traditionally made with a finely ground, vietnamese dark roast brewed in a small single serve metal french drip filter then mixed with sweetened condensed milk over ice. sounds yummy, right?! well, husband and i do not own a super fancy french drip filter, so we improvised by using a traditional french press. our coffee of choice was cafe du monde, which has a nice chicory flavor to it. i also added a little vanilla syrup to mine because i was in the mood for vanilla.
so here is what you'll need:
1 tsp vanilla syrup
1 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
8 oz chicory coffee {cafe du monde}
1 cup half way filled with ice
start by pouring the vanilla syrup over ice.
then add your sweetened condensed milk
finally, add coffee and stir! badda-bing, badda-boom.
and there you have it, vietnamese{ish} iced coffee!
obviously you can add more of any ingredient to increase the creaminess and sweetness of your beverage. husband didn't measure the sweetened condensed milk and his drink was way more white and milky than mine, but he enjoyed it!

Anything with sweet condensed milk in it is yummy so i can only imagine how good this is!! :)

Do you happen to have any recipes that take just sweetened condensed milk and......well, just sweetened condensed milk? The picture would look something like this: a can of Eagle Brand, a can opener, and a serving spoon; and your mother in the background ready to pounce upon it :)
ReplyDeleteThe coffee recipe looks yummy,Baby. Love you. Mom xoxo
