the ocean

our lives are an ocean - sometimes calm, sometimes ruthless.

 so many things in our lives happen out of our control, both good and bad.

whether you are waiting to hear if you got a job, a promotion or got accepted to a certain college there is an ever-present temptation to believe that your life is being held in someone elses hands. so you pray that you interviewer liked you or that your boss thinks you would be a good addition to upper management all the while your life isn't held in their hands at all, rather God's, for everyone and everything is subject to Him, to His will and to His purpose.

it is so easy to forget, isn't it?

this morning, as husband and i are in a week of waiting for news, i was sweetly reminded by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that everything has been placed under Christ's feet. He is seated at the right hand of God and His Name is higher than any other name in this age and the age to come. my world is in no one's hands other than the Lord's.

and there is my sweet Jesus, sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding on my behalf...

so, i rest and wait.
